Job Costings

Job Costing allows you to monitor and control the various costs associated with a job carried out for a specific customer. You can easily record the actual expenditure for each of the costs and also enter estimated costs for comparison purposes if required. Sales invoices can be raised at any time during the course of a job, allowing for multiple invoices if required. The progress and profitability of a job may be viewed and/or printed at any time. Among the features of the job costing are:

  • On-screen job enquiry shows full job details, including all cost movements
  • Sales order processing and ledger invoicing can be linked to jobs
  • Purchase order processing can be used to buy in items for multiple jobs
  • Supplier invoices can be analysed to multiple jobs
  • Stores stock can be issued directly to a job
  • Works order processing can be linked to jobs (ENCORE Premier Plus only)
  • Timesheet entry transaction allows you to post time-related costs to jobs
  • Full or selective sales invoicing from within the job record
  • Job notes (unlimited size) can be printed on sales invoices
  • Costs for a job are categorised by cost type. Four different cost types can be used:
  • Time - used for costs charged at an hourly rate, for example labour or plant hire. The user can define multiple time cost types, each with its own hourly rate
  • Value - used for miscellaneous costs, for example subcontract work. The user can define multiple value cost types. Can be linked to a supplier when added to a job
  • Ex-Stock - used for materials taken from stores stock
  • Bought In - used for materials purchased specifically for a job
